Review – Book Shelf:
This book does exactly what it says on the cover; it does keep the reader enthralled. I knew it was going to be an emotional read as all the ingredients were there, Apartheid, abusive family etc. It is rather like seeing a car accident you don’t want to look but your morbid curiosity gets the better of you and yes the emotional roller-coaster is well worth it as reading this book is more of an experience than just a good read.

Review:  Hot dogs under The Dakota.

This superbly written novel held me spellbound as the suspense built in an intensely escalating emotional battle of wills between the main character, thirteen year old Petie, his fragile mother and his overbearing granddad. The characters are richly portrayed and intricately woven together to tell a story that had an end so explosive it left me breathless. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an intriguing and fascinating read and look forward to more from this author in the future.
